Rajataide Association was formed to serve art and artists in 1996. We’re not a trade union, but a forum that can be joined already during studies. In addition to artists, the association’s members consist of young professionals and students from other fields of culture as well.
Members can use the association as a project group to realize their ideas. Rajataide gathers together people who want to increase the visibility of art in Tampere by their own actions. New members are most welcome!
To keep its view fresh in the future also, Rajataide has decided to set the right to vote to members under the age of 36 years. However, older age does not prevent participation to exhibitions and other activities of the association.
Rajataide is represented at the What a Mess! fair by artists Juhani Tuomi, Karoliina Paappa, Arttu Merimaa, Kaisa Luukkonen, Jussi Koitela, Miina Hujala and Johanna Havimäki.
At the fair, Rajataide will publish a book on artist-run galleries written by researcher and curator Pelin Tan. Rajatila also maintains a blog that comments on the fair and the concept.
